Mark Zuckerberg visits Sanford Lab

Founder and CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg made the one-mile journey deep underground to the Sanford Underground Research Facility.  He donned the PPE (hardhat, safety glasses, coveralls and a backpack with a rescue respirator) and stepped into the cage to descend down the Yates shaft to the underground Davis campus.

His Facebook Live video now has over 4 million views.  Wow.

“There are a lot of places that have had their economy primarily focused on natural resources, or on the land, that are shifting to modern knowledge economies.  And, making it so that rather than people fighting over resources (if one person has gold another person doesn’t have it)--with a knowledge economy, that’s not the case.  You learn something new, you discover something, and everyone can benefit from that.”    Mark Zuckerberg
